From 12 June 2026, Mallorca, home to Spain’s third-largest airport, will further strengthen its international connectivity with the launch of a direct route to Abu Dhabi, operated by Etihad Airways.
This strategic connection links the island directly with the capital of the United Arab Emirates and unlocks seamless access to the Middle East, Asia, Oceania and key long-haul markets via Etihad’s Abu Dhabi hub. Beyond leisure travel, the new route represents a significant opportunity for business, premium travel and the MICE segment.
Announced by Etihad as its 29th destination, and positioned as a summer gateway to Ibiza and the Balearic Islands, the route launches with three weekly flights and reflects the airline’s intention to further develop the connection, with the ambition of expanding frequencies in the future.
Together with the recently strengthened direct connections to the United States, this new route further consolidates Mallorca’s position as an international destination, well connected to emerging markets and global networks worldwide.
